DAY 5. crow flies straight

I've got 5 days under my belt, so to speak. Each run has been around 2.5 miles. (and right now, it's more of a jog than a 'run')  Running in the Winter here might be harsh.  Hell, running in the Summer here might be harsh too, I don't know.  We are new... to everything....  Marriage, Parenthood, Indiana, to name a few.  This Blog will be my Log, mostly for running, might catch a few other things along the way.  I tend to ramble sometimes....
First five days went great.  Not sure what we'll do when it's raining.. I take our daughter with me when I run.  She is just over one year old;) We also have 2 dogs (adopt!!! save a life!!!) around 60 lbs each, they like to run too.... sometimes.  So, I guess we'll tackle the rain/snow speedbump when we get there.  I am lucky/blessed enough to be a 'stay at home mom,' thankfully.  I have a wonderful husband who amazes me every day.  He has 3 marathons under his belt.  I am hoping to follow in his footsteps.  I am jealous:)
lil bit about me;
I am not athletic.  I have never played sports.  Up until 3 years ago, I ate a very unhealthy, 'poor college student' diet, drank PBR's every night, and laid on the beach all day... not very active.  AND I smoked on top of it!
Then I met JD.  My wonderful husband.  He is great... in every way.  Especially in the way he makes me want to be great.  We were engaged a year after meeting, and our daughter was born a year after that.  We have moved several times and lived in 3 different states.  We have been busy.  I have tried running off and on this whole time, but something always comes up.. gets me off track, and then I never get back on.  so.
This past Christmas, I got JD a Runner's World subscription.  There was recently an article about a man who ran for a year straight. (no, not Forest Gump style, ran once a day for a year.)  Got me thinking.  I have all of these goals I'd like to accomplish, but I have never been good on deadlines.  i.e. if I say, 'i'll run 3 times this week, I'll inevitably wait till the last three days in the week, and then STILL not run because, well, the three times a week thing is my rule, and there are no consequences if I break it.  AAAnd I take the easy way out, am slightly dissappointed in myself for maybe 2 minutes, and get over it.
So.  If it's an every day thing, there's no putting it off.  And I am hoping that once I get into the 'rhythm' of running every day, It'll be more of a habit than a responsibility.
Day 5 complete.  Let's see how the first weekend goes...
Happy Friday!
