So last post was mid-morning of day 8. Before day 8's run. ... Later that day, I took little one for a run. We got lost. Not scary ghetto lost and fearing for our lives, not wilderness lost looking for firewood. We were running lost, not nearly as scary as the aforementioned but scary nonetheless.. especially with a little one, no water and no phone. Well, towards the beginning of a regular route, I decide to take us down a different road, which led to another new road and so on. We did finally make it back and when I checked our rout on runnersworld.com we had only gone about 3.2 miles. Not that impressive. Our usual runs are only around 2.5 miles so it was still a little more that normal, but it felt a lot farther. By the by, RunnersWorld.com has an amazing (and free!) running log. They even have an application that will find your neighborhood (or wherever you run) and let you mark which route you take AND it calculates the distance for you! You can save your routes and log your miles daily, weekly, and monthly. It's helped me a lot, especially when you can see how far you've gone in the past week.. as of today, I've logged 22.6.My Training Log
Ten days in, that's a little over 2 miles a day. I'm happy. There are a lot of runners out there that would be disappointed, but I am the girl who walked part of 'the mile' in highschool. I am the girl who dreaded taking the dogs to the beach (something that in itself is so much fun) because we walked when we went. (that was also back in my going out every night and smoking era). So for me, the lazy un-athlete, 2 miles a day is damn good.
Day 9 was a busy day, so we only squeezed in a 1.3 miler, which I made up for yesterday by gettin' after it with a nice 3.4 miles. And let me tell ya, IT WAS HOT. I felt like we were back in North Carolina again. Note to self: check weather and run IN THE MORNING! I say morning instead of evening because we took a long family walk last night and it wasn't much cooler. The dogs wanted to kill us, and little bean got rosy cheeks:)
We haven't run yet today, but Mama has some errands to run before we hit the pavement so we might end up waiting till this evening. It is supposed to rain, but it was supposed to rain yesterday too and well, it didn't. Maybe I'll have my first solo in the rain while Mr. Wonderful watches the bebes. We'll see.
P.S. Just watched the first 45 minutes of the movie Food Inc. So happy to be vegetarian and happy to have a veggie baby as well. She likes her garbanzo beans and blue berries, no carcass for my baby.
HAVE A FANTASTIC DAY!
